PSY-ID is a structured psychological profile, a “psychological passport”, that SoulMatcher builds for every user from an in-app assessment. It describes personality traits and emotional accentuations, and it is what the app compares when it calculates how compatible two people are, before they ever see each other’s photos.
How a PSY-ID is built
- You take the assessment in the app. It is a structured questionnaire about how you react, connect and communicate, not a quiz about your favourite films.
- AI maps your answers onto psychological traits and accentuations. An accentuation is a pronounced personality trait, not a disorder, that shapes how a person behaves in close relationships.
- The result becomes your PSY-ID. It is stored in your profile and belongs to you; you can delete your account and data at any time.
- When two profiles meet, the app compares their PSY-IDs and shows a compatibility score as a percentage, so you can weigh psychological fit alongside everything else you see.
What PSY-ID measures
The profile focuses on the traits that research on close relationships keeps pointing to: empathy, emotional stability, attachment behaviour and pronounced accentuations of character. In the app you will also see peer assessments: how people who interacted with a person rated the same traits, displayed as badges next to the self-assessment.
Why match by psychology at all
Photo-first dating optimises for the first three seconds. Long relationships are decided by the next three years: how two people argue, support each other and handle stress. PSY-ID exists so that this part, the part that actually predicts whether a relationship lasts, is visible before the first message, not after the first year.

No. PSY-ID is an informational profile built for matching. It is not a medical or psychological diagnosis and it is not a substitute for consulting a psychologist, psychotherapist or other qualified specialist.
How is PSY-ID different from PSY-DNA?
PSY-ID is your individual profile used for matching inside the app. PSY-DNA is an extended report that maps your traits across a wider typology and looks at patterns shared within a family.
Who can see my PSY-ID?
Other users see the compatibility score and the trait badges shown on profile cards, not your raw answers. Your assessment answers are not published anywhere.
Can my PSY-ID change?
Yes. You can retake the assessment as your circumstances change, and peer assessments accumulate over time, so the profile reflects how you are now, not how you answered once.
